Roll Like a Wave

Roll Like a Wave

Spell Category__,
Material Components__

This is a spell to become “like water” to quote the late, great Bruce Lee. Use it for the experience if you like, but you’ll notice I “branched” it in practical magic, and this is because we often take on elemental qualities to help us get stuff done.

It’s true. The first step towards becoming or shifting into whatever is to set the intention to be that thing. In the case of elemental invocations, transformations, or attunements, the first step is to think about the quality, or elemental nature, being dealt with.

These are the watery qualities of this spell.

Having brought these traits to mind you must bow intend to become them. Determine that you will be as water, and then simply be watery as you incant the spell below.

Remember water is also the quality of (emotive) expression and (fluid) rhythm Of course each element has expressions and rhythms, but water is the quality most people could agree to assign these words to because the rhythm of water is like what most people mean when they say “rhythm”. Sing this one and if you feel led move your body along.

Here is the spell to cast:

“Neidlum (nay-eed-ya-loom) ooh ooom I flow and I move first slowly into my groove.

Evenly, unbothered without haste do I move. And move and move.

Then when I begin to ascend my pace and roll and unroll and roll and unroll like a wave behaves.

CRASH! Recover keep flowing like water I’m going and rolling and rolling over and under and through whatever never slowing keep flowing and rolling and rolling into and out of whatever form whenever I’m ever flowing like a wave forever.

Take part or all of this or adapt as you see fit. I added the crash only in case you needed it.

Most likely for fluidity you could simply stick with this bit:

Notes:

Picture “going water” to handle a busy, crowded work scenario with co-workers underfoot and customers over your shoulder. A normally tense and terse situation becomes background input as you roll and flow unimpeded through your tasks and communications. Stress doesn’t necessarily magically vanish (though it might) but at the very least you have turned the volume down on the alarm and are handling your business without overwhelm or excess emotions.
