Hecate

The One Goddess

We should understand, when we discuss the Goddess there is, if not a solitary universal power, at least one major power to which the other, similar archetypes and deities are mere forces to be directed. These lesser forces would be subservient to the Magnus Omnus Unus, or simply irrelevant in its wake. There may be a singular Goddess with many names, faces, roles, and spheres of influence. (The same is of course true of the God.) Thus, “Hecate” is the solitary or greater Goddess force by one name, while Luna, Diana, Freya, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Skaadi, Kali, and many other names and faces are the same force variously personified.
